Could a person get a job as a Nurses aide in England,Italy or France?

I work as a nurses aide in the US,but I was thinking of working in Europe for a few years ,just to do something new. Do they even have the need for aides there? Do they hire them to help the Nurses? Or do the Nurses there do such duties,like they use to years ago in the US? Thanks for answering any Nurses or people who have lived in Europe(one of the Countries I have mentioned).

Well i’m not sure how common Nurses aids are in Europe but i think I should add in a few things…becoming a citizen in Europe or being able to work in Europe is a very hard thing to do for an American. Why would they hire a nurses aid from America when someone could do that already living in that country? Now Im not telling you to give up but picking up and moving to Europe is a very hard task. I would try England because i’ve heard its a littler easier to move to than other countries in Europe.

Or do they just take the prerequisites and apply to RN program…. because my friend is considering doing the bridge programs(CNA to LPN to RN)…so she can work and go to school while getting work-related experience also…but is this a common route for mant nurses or should she just finish prerequisuites and apply to RN school? ANY ADVICE would help greatly?

You don’t "work your way up" to RN. You need to go through an RN program. You can either go straight into it, or become an LPN first and then do an LPN to RN bridge program. Most RN programs require that students have their CNA license, but not all, and you don’t need work experience, just have the license. Some people debate over whether it’s necessary to have work experience as a CNA, I say it is helpful but not necessary. They teach you CNA skills at the start of your nursing program, and honestly, being a CNA is SO completely different from working as an RN, CNAs only do one tiny part of what RNs are trained to do, so it’s not like you really get an accurate representation of what it’s like to be a nurse by being a CNA.

What do medical assistants do when working in urgent care?

I have little experience and I dont think my skills are that sharp yet so im a bit nervous starting out at an urgent care center. Does anyone have any advice or tips to help me through this??

You still do what you would do in any medical office; the UC may be just faster paced & there is more variety. You will still do vitals, put pts into rooms, get the chief complaint, get them draped or positioned if necessary. The you would assist with what ever needs to be done; as well as irrigate ears, wash eyes, bandage etc. You may or may not do discharge (In my clinic we do the discharge paperwork & aftercare instructions). Our MAs also gives meds & shots, set up trays & sterilize instruments, run in-house labs, draw blood, clean the rooms etc. Just about everything you learned in MA school.

I really cant decide between Medical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician!
Ive been wondering if when you/people start off giving people shots,as medical assistants
if it was/is hard? Not the process of giving shots but the after affect..Crying Patients and such?

A medical career is always worth considering, from nurses and doctors right down to hospital cleaning personnel. The site in the box below has some great instruction on entering this splendid line of work. My brother got some great help from there before landing a career as a medical admin assistant.

I’m currently in jobcorps as a CNA student but when i finish end june/begin july i want to move to phoenix & go to a community college in the fall for media journalism & paramedic. I was wondering if i could work as a CNA to help pay for my apartment bills etc… but also go to college at the same time o.0

Well, you might want to work as a CNA and save up some money for college tuition. In my nursing program, out of 10 students, 6 are CNAs. However, you will have to look at what type of job you are doing. You’ll need a job where you can work either second shift or third shift if you go to school during first shift. Figure out the times and decide whether or not you think you will want to work those times or if the school will interfere.
